Judges 13-18

1. Compare the mother of Samson and the mother of Micah. What trend do you see in Judges that is characterized by these women?

2. How would you characterize Samson's life as a child of God? What makes him any different from the cultures around him?

3. Are you surprised by the way God uses Samson? Explain.

4. Are you surprised by the role the priest plays in Jud. 17-18? What is happening in Israel?

1 comment:

  1. The Israelites go from bad to worse. A mother who is doubtful but obedient to a mother who consecrates her silver to make an idol for her son. A judge who indulges in every kind of self-focused enjoyment, who looks like any other heathen until, in his weakness, he turns to God to help destroy the Philistines. A Levite who agrees to being a priest for an idol rather than the living God. Truly Israel has no king at this time.
