Joshua 13-15, 22-24

1. If we are a Kingdom of Priests (1 Pet. 2:9), what does that say about our inheritance (Josh. 13:14, 33)?

2. What do you learn of God's ability to keep his promises in Joshua?

3. What responsibility do God's people have to keep their promises to God?

4. What do you learn about conflict resolution in this section?

  1. The priests inherit God himself, pointing ahead to our great inheritance in its fullness in heaven. In this section we see God's faithfulness in helping his people, but the people already beginning to falter despite their claims otherwise. Already they must get rid of other gods even as Joshua reminds them to be faithful--a good thing to keep in mind going into the next section. The conflict resolution between the Eastern & Western tribes is so typical--how easily it could escalate into all-out civil war when it was simply a misunderstanding of intent. How often we act similarly instead of talking and understanding each other. There are enough remaining enemies to deal with without making ourselves enemies!
