The Bible is filled with themes that carry through from beginning to end. One such theme is destination (or journey, purpose, goal), our church’s focus this year. From Advent through Easter, we invite you through a unique read of the Bible to look for the theme of destination. See what God will teach you through the entirety of his word about destination.
It's a challenge to read so much of the gospel of John at once, but it points to bigger themes that are repeated in the book (and invites further study!). Jesus came so that people could find true life in him, not in the things of this world, things like food, water, laws, power structures, etc. He uses miracles to prove himself, and catch their attention, but only as a means to draw people to him, not to the miracles themselves, or their effects. He continually points to belief in himself as the source of life and fulfillment.
