Acts 15-16

1. How does the fledgling church work out its theological disputes?

2. What evidence is there of other disputes?

3. How does God continue to guide his church?

4. What evidence is there of continued joy in the church (not just disputes)?

  1. The early church had much to work out, but they carefully examined earlier teachings, remembering in particular things the Spirit clearly showed them, and working together to determine truth (not compromise) to God's word. There were clearly personal disagreements that came up as well, and at times teams had to dissolve and reform based on personalities. Isn't that always true when people get involved? But God continues to guide his church through his Spirit and there is great joy as new people come to faith and the gospel spreads throughout the world.
