1. By what standards does Paul say that we are judged by, regardless of our background?
2. How well do we hold to the standards we judge others by?
3. What would our destination be, if it weren't for faith?
4. How does Abraham represent fatherhood to both Jews and Gentiles?

This section of Romans makes me think of the age-old question I heard again just last week, "What about the innocent native who never heard of Jesus--what will become of him/her if we are only saved through Christ?" It's the same question, isn't it? From the Jews' perspective, the Gentiles were those who hadn't heard or subscribed to the law. But Paul says that God will judge them according to what they know, not what they don't know. According to the standards they judge others by. Sometimes those who don't know the law subscribe to a higher standard than those who have heard of it! It's written on their hearts. And yet all fall short if it weren't for God's intervention in our lives. We would all be condemned if it weren't for faith in God's grace. We should be thankful for his intervention in love.
