1. If 1 Corinthians was characterized by correction, how would you characterize 2 Corinthians?
2. What role does forgiveness play after correction?
3. What has Paul learned through his hardships?

It seemed like there was a lot of correction based on a lot of strong personalities and pursuit of pre-conversion interests in 1 Corinthians. But Paul's second letter seems filled with a sense of grace and forgiveness. It does no good to dwell on the problems if it ends up tearing up the person at fault. Repentance is necessary, but love and reconciliation must follow. It seems like Paul is gentled through his hardships--having all the greater compassion on those he reaches out to, and leaning all the more on Christ for all that he does.
