It's one thing to see the problems in your own country, but we might not want to take the drastic steps of correction necessary for change. Sounds a bit like the State of the Union address! But in the case of Judah, it meant the entire destruction of the country except for the remnant. It takes faith to believe in God's plan when you're in one of the down parts of the loop, but he clearly has the big picture in mind in the long run.
