2 Kings 1-7

1. How do the miracles in this section point ahead to Christ's work on earth?

2. How do Elijah & Elisha seem different from Christ?

3. How does God make his name known among the other nations?

  1. I find it hard to understand this section. Very flashy miracles that seem somewhat like the things Jesus did. But the attitude of the prophets is somewhat disturbing at times-like Elijah saying multiple times: "If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your men." The miracles don't seem to have as significant a reason for being. Clearly points to Jesus as a better prophet, but I'd like to fit it into a better framework for my understanding.
